There are eight key stages when considering the conformal coating production process.
Not all stages may be used in a production line. But, each stage should be considered for use when setting up a new coating process.
The eight key stages are shown below:
- Cleaning
- Priming
- Masking
- Application methods
- De-masking and finishing
- Drying and curing
- Inspection
- Coating thickness
Each can be examined separately.
Selecting the right conformal coating process
As previously discussed the set up a coating process should be considered holistically.
The material, application process and the circuit to be coated should be examined in parallel to ensure you select the optimum process.
When considering the key production stages this is part of the process.
